St. Mary Welcomes You!
St Mary is a student-friendly parish and we welcome you. Your time at university is one of the most special of your life. You may be away from home for the first time. Through your studies and experiences, you’re learning and growing and maturing as a young adult. Along with these gifts, there are many temptations and trials, too. We at St. Mary are here to help you navigate this stage of life with the grace, the hope, and the love that comes from our shared Catholic faith.
Our 8 p.m. Sunday Mass is geared especially for university students. You’ll meet your peers in a friendly, lively, and fun environment to worship God and receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. We pray with and for each other during this joyful celebration of Jesus’ love for us as part of the Body of Christ.
The Newman Center, its student leadership, and staff, are present to welcome you, answer your questions, support you during your struggles, and grow with you in faith.Visit us at
www.osunewman.org to find Mass times for our on-campus chapel, learn more about our activities, and connect with other Catholic students on campus.
As a Catholic in the midst of the busy university, you may sometimes feel alone–your fellow Catholics at Newman Center understand the unique challenges of being a person of faith in the midst of a non-believing culture. They meet with the same struggles, temptations, and challenges you do!
For Parents of University Students
When your son or daughter goes off to university, your family goes through a big adjustment. We understand the challenges and joys of seeing children grow to adulthood–we’ve been there, too! Our parish is closely tied to Oregon State University. In our pews, you’ll find professors, staff members, administrators, and athletic coaches from Oregon State. Because of our intimate connection with the University, we are uniquely prepared to help you and your child adjust to changes that come with life on campus.
The Newman Center is a great resource for you and your child. Please don’t hesitate to call (541) 752-6818 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions. And we’d love to welcome you in person when you’re visiting your son or daughter in Corvallis! Visit at www.osunewman.org to learn more about us, our programs, and resources. You and your family are in our prayers!
