Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is provided to persons who are ill or who are in need of God’s healing mercy. The elderly (those who are 60 or older) regardless of medical condition, may be anointed, or any Catholic who suffers a serious illness or faces a major surgery.
At the end of life, Anointing of the Sick, along with Penance and the Eucharist (sometimes referred to as Last Rites) are administered to the dying person.
To arrange for Anointing of the Sick or Viaticum, please contact the Parish Office (541-757-1988). In case of emergency, call 541-758-2401.
When you care for a loved one whose health is declining, it is not prudent to wait until the last moment to call for a priest. It is better for a person to receive the sacraments while they are responsive. Moreover, there is a limited number of priests in our area and they may not always be immediately available.
Eucharistic Ministry
If you or a loved one is sick, homebound or living in a care facility and unable to come to Mass, a Eucharistic Minister can visit you so you can receive Communion.
