Saint Irenaeus, Bishops of Lyons, Father of the Church: Apostolic Tradition and Heresy in the Second Century

In our next installment of Theology Nights, Dr. Shawn Keough will be speaking on the life of St. Irenaeus, an early church father. St. Irenaeus lived from the year 125 to 202. This conference will introduce participants to Irenaeus of Lyons, one of the most important theologians of the early Church. Dr. Keough will discuss his life and writings, giving particular attention to his defense of apostolic tradition in the face of contemporary heresies.

Dr. Shawn Keough currently teaches at Mt. Angel seminary, giving classes on church history, the Church Fathers, and theological topics pertaining to Christology and the Trinity.

When: Thursday May 6th, 2021 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Where: This course will be conducted through a hybrid format: you can opt to attend in-person or on Zoom. The cost is free, but registration is required.
